Context
A train station hosts the release of an album called Egypt Station. On September 7, 2018, McCartney takes over the Vanderbilt Hall of Grand Central Terminal in New York, after a week of clues about the location. About two hundred people attend in person; the stream opens the hall to the world.
The start plays with Hey Jude before A Hard Day's Night opens the set. On Letting Go, three horn players perform among the audience. My Valentine changes scale: McCartney sings through a megaphone, with accordion and acoustic guitars. Come On to Me, Who Cares and Fuh You present the new album between the Beatles and Wings.
The night also marks the Hot City Horns' entry into McCartney's live world, shortly before the Freshen Up Tour. Directed by Arturo Perez Jr. and produced for MPL by Scott Rodger, the gathering remains a YouTube Originals special. The railway setting stops being just a reference to the album title and gets a record of its own.
- My Valentine gets a megaphone, accordion and acoustic guitar backing.
