Context
In 2018, singing again is no longer routine for Shakira. A vocal cord injury had postponed the tour planned for November 2017. When she reaches The Forum in Inglewood, the singer is on her first world tour in seven years, now with El Dorado as the starting point.
Estoy Aquí and ¿Dónde Estás Corazón? open the show in a single medley. Shakira crosses languages, pairs Chantaje with Inevitable and takes Antología to an acoustic format. Tim Mitchell leads on guitar, while bass, drums, keyboards and violin carry the band. On Can't Remember to Forget You, she also takes the drumsticks at the end.
The experience becomes a film directed by Shakira and James Merryman. It reaches theaters in November 2019, combining the footage shot at The Forum with images from other legs and behind the scenes. More than pinning down one date, the edit makes the recovery of her voice the axis of this return to the stage.
- Can't Remember to Forget You ends with Shakira on drums.
