Context
Carioca builds a new Chico Buarque tour from the 2006 album. The program brings the recent songs close to characters and scenes that already ran through his work. Luiz Cláudio Ramos handles musical direction and arrangements, while the show's production is in the hands of Vinícius França.
Voltei a Cantar opens the edit before Mambembe. Subúrbio, As Atrizes and Ela Faz Cinema keep the link to the album, while Futuros Amantes and João e Maria revisit other periods. Bia Paes Leme joins Imagina, and Wilson das Neves shares Grande Hotel. The sequence combines sambas, narrative songs and collaborations with Edu Lobo.
The show is released on DVD in 2007. The film fixes the Carioca program and the guest spots that run through its staging. The complete posting lets viewers follow the musical sequence of the audiovisual edit, setting the show apart from the documentary about the making of the studio album.
