Context
Before the road, the meeting point is a barn on Martha’s Vineyard. In 1992, James Taylor gathers the band at home to prepare a summer tour. New Moon Shine had arrived the year before, and four of its songs find room among songs that already spanned two decades.
Taylor starts Secret O' Life alongside Don Grolnick's piano. The lineup features Michael Landau on guitar, Jimmy Johnson on bass, Carlos Vega on drums and four backing voices. Between interviews and performances, Fire and Rain and Sweet Baby James share the program with Copperline and The Frozen Man.
Television gets a version called Going Home in April 1992. The following year, the fifteen songs reach VHS as Squibnocket; in 2006, the recording gets a DVD edition. The film preserves a different situation from a tour concert: the band is still gathered in the place where it prepares, before the journey.
- Secret O' Life opens the performances as a duo with Don Grolnick on piano.
