Context
A pink suit and a Gibson Flying V frame Lenny Kravitz's arrival at Pinkpop on May 31, 1993. Are You Gonna Go My Way had come out in March. In Landgraaf, the Universal Love Tour meets the European festival circuit with three albums to carry the night.
Kravitz opens with Is There Any Love in Your Heart and My Love, both from the new record. Craig Ross shares the guitars; Cindy Blackman plays her first show with the singer. Fields of Joy and Always on the Run pull Mama Said into the sequence, while Sister and Believe keep the present in rotation.
Are You Gonna Go My Way comes near the end, before Let Love Rule closes the run. The recording remains in the archive of Dutch public broadcasting. In 2019, the TV series for Pinkpop's fiftieth anniversary revisits this set: the pink suit returns to the screen, along with a band beginning another stage.
- Is There Any Love in Your Heart and My Love open the show with the third album still fresh.
