Context
In October 1994, Pink Floyd take over Earls Court for 15 nights. The Division Bell had reached number one in the UK months earlier, and the tour had crossed North America and Europe. On October 20, London hosts a performance that devotes an entire set to The Dark Side of the Moon.
David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason lead a lineup with additional bass, guitar, keyboards and percussion, saxophone and three singers. High Hopes and Coming Back to Life place the recent work alongside Shine On You Crazy Diamond. In the second set, the sequence of The Dark Side of the Moon runs from Breathe to Eclipse.
The encore brings together Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell. David Mallet's direction turns the night into Pulse, released on VHS and Laserdisc in 1995 and later on DVD. In 2019, Aubrey Powell re-edits the original tapes for The Later Years. The restoration gets its own release in 2022, extending the life of this London night.
