Context
In August 2017, Annihilator arrives at Catton Hall between two studio chapters. Suicide Society had marked Jeff Waters' return to lead vocals, and the next record was still to come. On Bloodstock's Saturday, the band takes that transition to the Ronnie James Dio stage.
King of the Kill opens the set and gets the crowd moving. Waters sings, plays guitar and fills the gaps between songs with humor and calls for participation. No Way Out and Set the World on Fire lead into W.T.Y.D.; then Twisted Lobotomy presents new material among the classics. Alison Hell speeds up the pits in front of the stage.
Phantasmagoria and Human Insecticide close the eight songs, without turning the festival stop into a sprawling retrospective. In November, Twisted Lobotomy takes the opening slot on For the Demented, and the band continues through Europe with Testament and Death Angel. The Bloodstock footage preserves this window: the future already enters the set, but the past carries the finale.
- Human Insecticide closes a final run with Alison Hell and Phantasmagoria.
