Context
By August 2015, the farewell announced in the Epitaph era is already in the past. Judas Priest arrive at Wacken with another album and another road ahead. Redeemer of Souls marked Richie Faulkner's studio debut with the band; now its songs share the stage with the classics.
In front of 85,000 people, Rob Halford opens with Dragonaut. Glenn Tipton and Faulkner take the guitars, while Ian Hill and Scott Travis hold down bass and drums. Halls of Valhalla and Redeemer of Souls come in the first half; Victim of Changes and Beyond the Realms of Death widen the night's historical reach.
Painkiller and Living After Midnight close the German show, but the release gets a second address. Three songs filmed in December at the Ergo Arena in Gdańsk complete the video edition. In March 2016, the performance reaches DVD as Battle Cry: a tour of new material preserved without erasing the past.
- The three bonus tracks take the Wacken release to the Ergo Arena in Poland.
