Context
At 10:05 p.m. on June 19, 2016, the area in front of Hellfest's two main stages is packed. Ghost arrives in Clisson with Meliora and the Black to the Future tour. Papa Emeritus III leads a band that already finds full venues and television exposure in France.
Spirit opens the set, and seven of the ten songs come from Meliora. Body and Blood and Year Zero keep Infestissumam at the center of the ritual. Between guitars, bass, keyboards and drums, the spectacle grows in scale: Monstrance Clock brings in a children's choir and ends under fireworks, in front of the main-stage crowd.
The ARTE Concert broadcast carries this night beyond the festival. The recording also preserves a lineup on the verge of change: Martin Persner, the guitarist Omega, leaves Ghost in July 2016. In Clisson, he still shares guitars with Simon Söderberg, within the sextet that carries Meliora through the European festival circuit.
- Monstrance Clock closes the night with a children's choir and fireworks.
