Context
On the night of October 27, 2016, Avenged Sevenfold climbs onto the roof of Capitol Records, in Hollywood. The setting goes along with a label change and the arrival of The Stage. The show takes place on the eve of the album's release date, announced without a conventional long-lead campaign.
The set is short: Nightmare, The Stage, Planets and Acid Rain. The new album's title track appears among three songs from earlier records. M. Shadows, Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance and Johnny Christ have Brooks Wackerman on drums. Four songs to mark the entry into this era.
The Stage joins the catalog on October 28. The show remains available on the band's VEVO channel and ties the album's promotion to a concrete place: the rooftop of its new label. The recording works as an introduction to that change, with the release still hours away.
