Context
After a year without Bloodstock, Catton Hall hosts the festival again in August 2021. On Friday, August 13, Venom Prison takes the Ronnie James Dio Stage. The band arrives with Primeval released during the pandemic and a deal with Century Media already signed, preparing for the next chapter.
Larissa Stupar hurls her voice against the guitars of Ash Gray and Ben Thomas, with Mike Jefferies on bass and Joe Bills on drums. There is fire onstage and movement in the pit. Deva's Enemy / Asura's Realm opens the set; amid Animus and Samsara, Slayer of Holofernes brings in the new material from Primeval.
Defy the Tyrant closes the performance, linking the return to the stage with the band's earliest compositions, revisited the previous year. The next album, Erebos, arrives in February 2022. The full festival recording preserves this interval: the early catalog still carries the show, while the debut for the new label remains ahead.
