Context
A schedule swap changes Friday on Bloodstock's main stage. On August 11, 2023, Gatecreeper takes the slot reserved for Sacred Reich because of logistical problems. The Arizona quintet arrives at Catton Park with two albums released and the follow-up already recorded, but not yet in stores.
Chase Mason unleashes his deep vocals, the guitars drive the riffs and the circle pit keeps moving. Sweltering Madness leads the way; Craving Flesh and Desperation revisit Sonoran Depravation. Between them, Caught in the Treads introduces new material. Starved, Rusted Gold and Sick of Being Sober condense the attack before Flamethrower closes the set.
The festival itself preserves the full performance, with thirteen songs spanning the band's first decade. In May 2024, Caught in the Treads finds a place on Dark Superstition, the third album. Here, that transition is still underway: the new song shares the stage with the material that has sustained the band's trajectory so far.
- Caught in the Treads previews the next phase; Flamethrower closes the show.
