Baest — Bloodstock Open Air 2022

The heat has already settled over Catton Park when Baest opens the main stage on Saturday, August 13, 2022. The Danish quintet arrives at Bloodstock with the newly released EP Justitia and Necro Sapiens still at the heart of the set. The morning gets death metal without waiting for the night's big names.

Simon Olsen handles vocals between the guitars of Lasse Revsbech and Svend Karlsson, with Mattias Melchiorsen on bass and Sebastian Abildsten on drums. Genesis opens the six-song sequence. Ecclesia and Gargoyles bring in the recent material; Crosswhore reaches back to Danse Macabre. Despite the early slot, the band draws a crowd in front of the Ronnie James Dio Stage.

After festival season, Baest heads out on the Necrofest Tour in late 2022, with Dawn of Demise among the announced supporting acts. The English performance becomes available in full in February 2023. The recording preserves a brief, precise snapshot of this period: six songs spanning the debut album through Justitia.
