Context
On August 14, 2022, the Sophie Lancaster tent welcomes Belphegor with The Devils still fresh: the album had arrived sixteen days earlier. On the final day of Bloodstock, in Walton-on-Trent, the Austrian group brings this new phase before a crowd that fills the space.
Inverted crosses, candles, and skulls surround the stage. Helmuth leads the opening with Baphomet and The Devil's Son, while flames and pyrotechnics heighten the spectacle inside the tent. Conjuring the Dead and Lucifer Incestus anchor the meeting of death and black metal; Stigma Diabolicum adds its shifts in direction.
The final stretch features three tracks from the new album: Virtus Asinaria - Prayer, The Devils, and Totentanz - Dance Macabre. After Bloodstock, the schedule continues with Motocultor in France. The full recording reaches the public in January 2023, preserving this meeting of established material and a newly arrived album.
- Flames and pyrotechnics fill the covered stage inside the Sophie Lancaster tent.
