Context
On Bloodstock's opening Thursday, August 11, 2022, the heat greets the crowd arriving at Catton Park. Between Nanowar of Steel and Dark Tranquillity, Nekrogoblikon takes the Sophie Lancaster Stage with a still-recent album: The Fundamental Slimes and Humours had arrived in April.
John Goblikon roams the stage and taunts the crowd while Nicky Calonne leads the songs. Golden Future, Yin, Bones, Going to Die and This Is It put the new album at the center of the set. Dressed as Goblins gets the tent moving; at the close, Powercore's keyboards accompany circle pits and dance moves.
The show is part of the European Summer Tour 2022 and preserves a period before the change in vocalists. In 2023, Dickie Allen takes over live performances in Calonne's absence, with Calonne's departure announced in December. The complete professional footage from Bloodstock begins circulating in February of that year, keeping this meeting of humor and death metal documented.
- Powercore closes the show with keyboards driving the crowd's movement.
