Party Cannon — Bloodstock Open Air 2022

On August 12, 2022, Party Cannon settles unfinished business with Bloodstock. Illness among the members had prevented the 2021 performance. Now, the Scottish quintet arrives at the Sophie Lancaster Stage with Volumes of Vomit, its second album, released that January after seven years without a full-length record.

Under the tent, inflatables bounce above heads while the band plays its brutal death metal. The contrast between partying and heaviness takes shape across five songs. Duct Taped to a Flag Pole leads the way; Nauseating and Unpalatable and Grass Obliteration bring in the new album, while Soft, White, Gelatinous Body revisits the EP era.

The festival appearance is part of an August that also takes the band to British stages with GWAR. We Prefer the Term Living Impaired closes the set and brings the repertoire back to the first album. In June 2023, Bloodstock itself releases the full recording online, preserving this return that had to wait a year.
