Context
For seven nights, Columbia Records takes over the Ahmanson Theatre to showcase its roster. Clive Davis had conceived A Week to Remember as a showcase for the label. On May 5, 1973, Johnny Cash joins the closing program, on a night that also features George Jones, Tammy Wynette and Charlie Rich.
Cash opens with Big River and moves through Sunday Morning Coming Down and A Boy Named Sue. The core of the Tennessee Three carries the performance, with Larry Butler on piano and Carl Perkins on guitar. June Carter Cash takes the duets on Jackson and If I Were a Carpenter, before the turn to the gospel repertoire.
The professional film does not capture every song from that night. The material stays unreleased until the 2020 project from Third Man Records, in partnership with Sony and the Cash estate. The complete audio fills two LPs; the DVD preserves a portion of the evening, including the return of Folsom Prison Blues at the close.
- Folsom Prison Blues runs through the train medley and returns as the closing reprise.

Trivia
The show is part of the final night of A Week to Remember, a seven-night series organized by Clive Davis to present Columbia Records artists.
The 2020 release pairs the complete audio on a double LP with footage that preserves only part of the performance.
Folsom Prison Blues appears inside a medley and returns at the close.
