“To see Tarja at Wacken as the In the Raw cycle resumes after the pandemic interruptions.”
Context
On August 6, 2022, Tarja takes the Harder Stage at Wacken with an hour on the afternoon bill. The performance is part of Raw Summer 2022, the festival leg of the In the Raw cycle. The album arrived in 2019, but the pandemic interrupted part of its life on stage.
Dead Promises opens the show and puts that record on the front line. Goodbye Stranger returns to the album further on, between Falling Awake and Diva. With guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and cello, Tarja runs through five solo albums. I Walk Alone appears in the final stretch, before the Gary Moore cover and Until My Last Breath.
The performance is also part of MagentaMusik's streaming program, which carries the main stages beyond the festival. In December of that year, Tarja releases the compilation Best of: Living the Dream. Wacken captures the moment before that retrospective: still within the In the Raw cycle, the solo career already carries almost the entire set.
- Over the Hills and Far Away comes before Until My Last Breath at the close.
