Context
On August 2, 2024, past and present share Blind Guardian's schedule. Somewhere Far Beyond Revisited reaches stores the same day the band takes Wacken's Faster Stage. The tour, however, still carries the name of The God Machine, and the show is not limited to celebrating 1992.
Imaginations from the Other Side opens the way for fifteen songs. Blood of the Elves, Violent Shadows and Secrets of the American Gods hold up the recent era among older titles. Hansi Kürsch leads the crowd singing on The Bard's Song; André Olbrich and Marcus Siepen share guitars, with Frederik Ehmke, Johan van Stratum and Kenneth Berger completing the stage.
In the encore, Sacred Worlds comes before Valhalla and the close with Mirror Mirror. The performance circulates through the broadcast and the full recording made available on Magenta Musik. It is not the document of a complete Somewhere Far Beyond performance: it is a broader selection that keeps the recent material in touch with the songs the audience already knows how to sing back.
- The Bard's Song and Valhalla make the audience part of the singing.
