Context
In December 2013, Carlos Santana returns to Jalisco, his home state, with a project yet to reach stores. Arena VFG in Guadalajara hosts a sold-out night. Corazón takes shape in front of the audience before its release, with partners from different countries together on the same stage.
Juanes sings La Flaca, Miguel takes Indy and Maria Maria, and Samuel Rosa brings Saideira. Between the guest spots, the band runs through Black Magic Woman, Oye Como Va and Europa. Fher Olvera meets Cindy Blackman Santana on Corazón Espinado; later, drums and bass get a segment of their own, with Cindy and Benny Rietveld.
The performance goes to television in May 2014, on HBO, and reaches DVD and Blu-ray in September, along with a CD and a behind-the-scenes documentary. Directed by Nick Wickham, the film preserves this passage between the established catalog and the partnerships of Corazón. The return to Mexico becomes part of the project itself.
- Fher Olvera and Cindy Blackman Santana meet on Corazón Espinado.
- Samuel Rosa brings Saideira to the Guadalajara stage.
