Context
On June 7, 2014, Pinkpop opens an edition with the Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys and Metallica at the top of the bill. On the 3FM stage, HAIM arrives with just one album out. Days Are Gone had taken the Los Angeles sisters to number one in Britain the year before.
Danielle, Este and Alana open with Falling and focus the set on the debut's songs. The format is direct: about 45 minutes, without crossing into other phases of a discography. Let Me Go closes the run with a percussion passage that shifts the center of the show to the drums.
After that festival season, the band keeps developing its second album, Something to Tell You, which arrives in 2017. The Pinkpop recording preserves an earlier stage: three sisters turn a single album into a festival set, before new records widen the repertoire and change the scale of their career.
- Let Me Go closes the performance with a collective percussion passage.
