“To follow Queen's second Argentine night, when the tour's set changes inside a soccer stadium.”
Context
The 1981 Argentine visit opens a new stadium circuit for Queen. After the Buenos Aires debut, the band returns to the Vélez Sarsfield stadium on March 1. This night's set rearranges The Game tour's usual sequence and reduces the room for older medleys.
We Will Rock You comes in its fast version, followed by Let Me Entertain You. Somebody to Love and Fat Bottomed Girls reappear in the program. On Save Me, Freddie's microphone fails; he switches equipment and uses John Deacon's to carry on with the song before returning to the piano.
The concert is filmed and broadcast by Canal 9, with later versions that change its length. Get Down, Make Love disappears from some reruns, but a backup copy makes it possible to recover the passage. The recording's story mirrors the performance itself: what reaches the public also depends on cuts, preservation and new airings.
