Context
At 7 p.m. on May 15, 2005, Pinkpop's main stage welcomes a home-grown band on its way to international reach. The Silent Force had reached number one in the Netherlands the year before. Now Within Temptation takes the slot before The Prodigy on the festival's Sunday.
Sharon den Adel sings in front of two guitars, bass, drums and keyboards. See Who I Am opens the run of songs, followed by Jillian and Angels. Seven tracks from The Silent Force share space with five from Mother Earth; Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill completes the journey.
The encore brings together Deceiver of Fools and Ice Queen, both from Mother Earth. The tour runs until 2006 and gets another document: the Java-eiland concert in Amsterdam, released on DVD later in 2005. The Pinkpop footage remains a festival slice of the same phase, not to be confused with that release.
- Deceiver of Fools and Ice Queen make up the encore.
