Context
On August 28, 2002, the Paradiso is sold out, but its walls do not limit the night's reach: Fabchannel streams the show for free over the internet. Nightwish arrives in Amsterdam with Century Child just released and Marko Hietala on bass and vocals, having replaced Sami Vänskä.
Tarja Turunen takes the vocals alongside Hietala, with Emppu Vuorinen on guitar, Tuomas Holopainen on keyboards and Jukka Nevalainen on drums. Bless the Child opens the set. Dead to the World and Slaying the Dreamer put the new album in the foreground; Beauty of the Beast widens that space before the Gary Moore cover.
The tour runs until 2003, when the band also reaches stages in England and the United States. The Amsterdam recording remains tied to the internet broadcast, not to a DVD of its own. Sleeping Sun and Wishmaster close this edit, preserving the meeting between the earlier repertoire and the renewed lineup.
- Beauty of the Beast takes up the longest stretch of the edit, before Over the Hills and Far Away.
