Evile — Bloodstock Open Air 2021

On August 13, 2021, the Sophie Lancaster stage welcomes an Evile with a different division of duties. Matt Drake had left, and his brother Ol had also taken over vocals. Adam Smith plays rhythm guitar. Hell Unleashed, released in April after eight years without a studio album, already features this lineup.

The band opens with the new album's title track and moves through all five albums available at the time. Gore also gets its first live performance. But Enter the Grave takes up the most space: Killer From the Deep and We Who Are About to Die precede the closing pair, Thrasher and Enter the Grave.

The next commitment is to take this lineup beyond the festival; the UK tour supporting Hell Unleashed takes place in February 2022. The full Bloodstock recording preserves the start of that journey. These nine songs document Ol's transition from lead guitarist to guitarist and lead vocalist, without leaving the earlier repertoire behind.
