Context
Thirty-seven years after forming, Vio-lence finally steps onto a British stage. The debut, announced for Bloodstock 2020, arrives on August 14, 2022. At Catton Park, the wait meets a band reunited since 2019 and once again armed with new material to put to the test.
Sean Killian leads eight songs on the Ronnie James Dio Stage. Phil Demmel and Bobby Gustafson share guitar duties, with Christian Olde Wolbers on bass and Perry Strickland on drums. Eternal Nightmare opens the attack; Upon Their Cross breaks the early albums' hold on the set. Chris Kontos also appears to add backing vocals onstage.
The full performance becomes available in March 2023, preserving just over forty minutes of this debut. The selection brings together five tracks from Eternal Nightmare, two from Oppressing the Masses and one from the recent Let the World Burn. The past takes up nearly all the space, but the comeback already has a new song to support it.
