Context
Two years after making its debut with Jay Walsh at Bloodstock itself, Xentrix returns to the festival with new material. On August 9, 2019, the quartet takes the Ronnie James Dio Stage after releasing Bury the Pain, its first studio album since 1996's Scourge.
The title track opens the show, and There Will Be Consequences and The Red Mist Descends give the new album a larger presence. Walsh shares guitar duties with Kristian Havard, while Chris Shires and Dennis Gasser round out the lineup. For Whose Advantage? and No Compromise draw stronger responses from the crowd.
In November, the full performance appears online, running just under 38 minutes. The recording preserves seven songs and a clear split between the studio comeback and the early records. Bury the Pain gets as much room as Shattered Existence: the return does not rely solely on the past.
- For Whose Advantage? and No Compromise draw the strongest responses from the crowd.
