Context
On August 12, 2023, Bloodstock's Saturday closes with Meshuggah in command. The band arrives at Catton Park with Immutable, its ninth album, released the previous year. The headline slot expands the scale of the anatomically themed production already accompanying the tour.
Broken Cog leads into Light the Shortening Fuse, and the Ronnie James Dio stage receives the quintet's mechanical assault. Jens Kidman handles vocals in front of the guitars of Fredrik Thordendal and Mårten Hagström. Ligature Marks reinforces the recent album's presence; Rational Gaze and Straws Pulled at Random revisit Nothing.
Bleed is left out, but the closing stretch does not depend on it: Demiurge and Future Breed Machine anchor the encore. The tour continues through North America in late 2023 and into 2024. In November, the performance is released in full as professionally shot footage, preserving the meeting of the Immutable tour and Bloodstock's scale.
- Demiurge and Future Breed Machine close a night without Bleed.
