Tour albumMandylion1995 · Mandylion Anniversary Tour 2026The reunion of the Mandylion lineup celebrates the record's 30th anniversary, and it makes up most of the set.“To see the Mandylion lineup reunited with Anneke at Hellfest's Temple stage during the 30th anniversary celebration.”
Context
In June 2026, the Temple stage at Hellfest hosts a lineup that seemed to belong to another chapter of The Gathering. Anneke van Giersbergen is back at the microphone alongside the five musicians of Mandylion. The reunion began in 2025, in the Netherlands, and now takes the album's 30th anniversary celebration to European festivals.
In Clisson, the band opens with an excerpt of Mandylion and moves into Eléanor. René Rutten and Jelmer Wiersma share guitars, with Frank Boeijen on keyboards, Hugo Prinsen Geerligs on bass and Hans Rutten on drums. Leaves, Sand and Mercury and Strange Machines hold up the 1995 core; Saturnine closes the filmed performance.
The road continues after Hellfest, with shows in Oignies and at Graspop the same weekend. The Clisson stop is filmed by ARTE Concert, preserving a slice of the reunion. It is not a full performance of Mandylion: it is the meeting of its musicians with a set that also reaches beyond that record.
