Album featured at the showRevenge1992Five songs from Revenge run through the selection, which centers on this era of the band.“To explore KISS's Revenge era, with Eric Singer joining Stanley, Simmons and Kulick in the quartet.”
Context
After Eric Carr's death in 1991, KISS enters the Revenge era with Eric Singer on drums. Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and Bruce Kulick complete the quartet. This period guides the selection, with no confirmed date or city that would allow it to be treated as a document of a single night.
The sequence opens with Detroit Rock City and King of the Night Time World before moving on to Deuce and Creatures of the Night. I Just Wanna, Unholy and Domino place Revenge alongside songs from other decades. There are 32 tracks, with room for Got to Choose, She and Tears Are Falling as well.
The 1992 tour yields the recordings for Alive III, released in 1993, but this selection should not be confused with that album. Video Vengeance offers a different view of the era, with the source of each segment yet to be established. The appeal lies in the meeting of the Revenge material and the catalog the quartet carries with it.
