Context
On July 9, 2005, Gothenburg wears Iron Maiden's colors. Shops and bars play the band's records, while 55,217 spectators fill the Ullevi. The Eddie Rips Up the World Tour reaches the end of its European leg looking back: the starting point is the DVD The Early Days.
On stage, Bruce Dickinson takes the vocals in front of the three guitars of Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers. Steve Harris and Nicko McBrain complete the six-piece. The concept focuses the night on the first four albums, also bringing back visual ideas from the old Beast on the Road and World Piece tours.
The show reaches beyond the stadium through television and radio, broadcast across Scandinavia. After Gothenburg, the band heads to North America and Ozzfest with Black Sabbath. The television recording preserves this stop: a retrospective of the early years built on the scale of a stadium.
- Television takes the show to Scandinavian audiences.
