“To see the original lineup launch Untouchables at the Hammerstein, on the eve of the album hitting stores.”
Context
On the eve of Untouchables reaching stores, Korn turn the Hammerstein Ballroom into a meeting point between stage and cinema. It is June 10, 2002. Tickets were given away through contests, and the Manhattan show also reaches fans gathered in movie theaters across North America.
A curtain drops and Here to Stay opens the concert. Jonathan Davis sings between the guitars of Munky and Head, with Fieldy on bass and David Silveria on drums. Embrace and Blame are played live for the first time. Make Me Bad flows into One and Justin; in the encore, Davis takes up the bagpipes for Shoots and Ladders.
The night previews the arena season and gets another life in November, when it reaches the double DVD Live. Jim Gable's direction preserves the concert, while the second disc offers alternate angles and behind-the-scenes footage. The release night stops being just a broadcast and remains as a document of the original lineup facing a new album.
- Embrace and Blame make their live debut.
