Context
In 2007, two moments in Iron Maiden's history share the stage. A Matter of Life and Death is still the recent work, while The Number of the Beast turns 25. After playing the new album in full in 2006, the band reorganizes the tour around this meeting of present and past.
Different World, These Colours Don't Run and Brighter Than a Thousand Suns open the run. The group alternates two other recent tracks with Wrathchild, The Trooper and Children of the Damned. Bruce Dickinson takes the vocals, with Murray, Smith and Gers on guitars; Harris and McBrain complete the six-piece on bass and drums.
The encore gathers 2 Minutes to Midnight, The Evil That Men Do and Hallowed Be Thy Name. The European leg is named A Matter of the Beast and ends in June. The set marks the move from playing the recent album in full to a celebration shared with the 1982 album.
