Context
In June 2011, Paris hosts two nights of a tour that spans the electronic phase of She Wolf and the Latin return of Sale el Sol. Shakira takes over Bercy on the 13th and 14th, with cameras ready to turn this European stop into a full-length film.
Pienso en Ti opens the journey, which passes through the rock of Inevitable and arrives at the meeting of Nothing Else Matters with Despedida. Tim Mitchell leads the band and shares guitars with Grecco Buratto. Near the end, Shakira sings Francis Cabrel's Je l’aime à mourir, before Hips Don’t Lie and Waka Waka.
After Paris, the tour moves on to other countries and ends in October. In December, the two performances reach the public as Live from Paris, on DVD, Blu-ray and an edition with a CD. The film preserves the meeting of different phases of her repertoire, without reducing Shakira to her international English-language hits.
- Je l’aime à mourir brings Francis Cabrel's French repertoire close to the finale.
- Nothing Else Matters and Despedida meet in a single medley.
