Context
In June 2024, Megadeth's stop in Galicia already belongs to a new chapter in the lineup. Teemu Mäntysaari had taken over guitar after Kiko Loureiro's departure in 2023. On the 29th, the quartet reaches Resurrection Fest in Viveiro, as part of the Crush the World Tour.
Dave Mustaine shares guitar duties with Mäntysaari, while James LoMenzo and Dirk Verbeuren round out the stage. The title track of the 2022 album opens the run of fourteen songs. Rust in Peace takes four slots, from Take No Prisoners to the closing Holy Wars... The Punishment Due; Kick the Chair brings back the era of The System Has Failed.
After Viveiro, the route heads to Lisbon the next day. The Galician set is released in full in June 2025, in a professional 4K capture at fifty frames per second. The recording preserves a precise snapshot of that transition: Mäntysaari is already part of the quartet, but the setlist still carries two songs from the album recorded with Loureiro.
- Four Rust in Peace songs run through the show, including the closing Holy Wars... The Punishment Due.
