Context
On October 9, 2010, Rage Against the Machine's Brazilian debut meets a concrete barrier: the barricades under pressure at Fazenda Maeda in Itu. The quartet arrives at SWU three years after the 2007 reunion and closes the festival's first day.
Testify opens the way for Bombtrack and People of the Sun. After Know Your Enemy, security calls for a pause, and Zack de la Rocha asks the crowd to make room. Later, the sound system fails. The band improvises while waiting for the repair, turning the forced break into part of the show.
Freedom and Killing in the Name lead the close. In the following days, the band moves on to Chile and Argentina. The Itu show circulates in television and audience recordings; this edit combines both perspectives but leaves three songs out. The debut remains documented with its interruptions, not just its choruses.
- A sound system failure leads to the improvisation that replaces Down Rodeo.
