Context
In August 2009, Judas Priest gets an early start on a party set for the following year. British Steel has not yet turned 30, but it already sits at the center of the American tour. In Hollywood, Florida, the August 17 show gets cameras and a clear destination: to accompany the album's anniversary edition.
Rob Halford takes the microphone between the guitars of Glenn Tipton and K. K. Downing, with Ian Hill and Scott Travis holding down the foundation. Rapid Fire opens the complete run-through of the album. After Steeler, the band widens the journey: The Ripper, Prophecy and Victim of Changes connect different phases of the group.
In May 2010, the night lands on the DVD of the new British Steel editions, alongside an interview about the album's making. Tom Allom, who produced the original record, returns to handle the sound of the recording. The celebration preserves more than the singles: it keeps the nine tracks together, as a complete body.
- The nine tracks of British Steel open the show, from Rapid Fire to Steeler.
