Soundgarden

Soundgarden formed in Seattle in 1984 with Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil and Hiro Yamamoto, and helped define the city’s grunge. After releasing Ultramega OK and Badmotorfinger, it reached a wide audience with Superunknown, from 1994, and followed with Down on the Upside. The band split up in 1997, returned in 2010 and released King Animal in 2012. After Cornell’s death in 2017, the members did not resume touring.
