Context
On August 31, 2010, Adam Lambert returns to the city where he was born with Clowes Memorial Hall sold out. The Indianapolis stop is part of his first headlining tour. After his exposure on American Idol, the challenge now is to carry a show with its own identity.
On stage, Lambert turns For Your Entertainment into a band-and-dance show, with costumes, lighting and a visual concept inspired by New Orleans. Monte Pittman handles musical direction and guitar. Tommy Joe Ratliff, Camila Grey and Longineu W. Parsons III complete the night's instrumental core.
Directed by Doug Spangenberg, the performance becomes Glam Nation Live, released on DVD and CD in March 2011. The tour still moves on to other continents before ending in December 2010. The recording fixes this first build of a solo stage show: his hometown becomes the setting for a professional statement.
