Context
On August 13, 2017, Megadeth returns to the top of the Bloodstock bill to close the festival. Dystopia had already earned the band its first Grammy. On the Ronnie James Dio Stage, Dave Mustaine and David Ellefson share the night with Kiko Loureiro and Dirk Verbeuren.
Hangar 18 leads into The Threat Is Real and Wake Up Dead. Mustaine and Kiko trade guitar passages while the screen shows alien autopsies and images of war. Conquer or Die makes room for the recent album's instrumental writing without taking the show away from the older songs.
Symphony of Destruction closes the main set, but the farewell calls for two returns: Peace Sells in the first encore and Holy Wars... The Punishment Due in the second. The professional footage circulates in full in May 2018. It preserves the meeting of the Dystopia era and the closing of that year's Bloodstock.
- Conquer or Die places the Dystopia instrumental among the classics.
