Tour albumCondolences2017 · CondolencesThe seventh solo album anchors the tour and takes a central role in the Bloodstock performance.“To see Wednesday 13 bring pyrotechnics and his horror theatrics to Bloodstock's main stage in 2018.”
Context
A door from The Shining stands on Bloodstock's main stage on a gray August afternoon. Wednesday 13 arrives at Catton Park after performances in Dublin, Belfast, and Glasgow, with Condolences still driving the tour. The album had marked his move to Nuclear Blast and a heavier direction.
Ax in hand, the singer comes through the door and opens with What the Night Brings. Roman Surman and Jack Tankersley share guitar duties, with Troy Doebbler on bass and Kyle Castronovo on drums. Dancers, fire, and costume changes heighten the theatrics; red smoke surrounds Gimmie Gimmie Bloodshed before the title track from Condolences.
I Walked With a Zombie revisits the first solo album, and I Love to Say Fuck closes the set with an explicitly provocative umbrella. The tour continues through the second half of the year before a return to the studio. On Halloween, the full performance premieres through Metal Hammer: the stage horror finds its date on the calendar.
- The opening turns the door from The Shining into a backdrop for What the Night Brings.
