Why watch

“To follow John Fogerty in his phase of reconciliation with the Creedence repertoire, in the late 1990s.”

Context

The late 1990s bring John Fogerty closer to a repertoire he had long kept at a distance. After Blue Moon Swamp, released in 1997, his shows once again bring together his solo work and the songs of Creedence Clearwater Revival. The separation between these two stories loses strength.

Voice and guitar remain at the center of this return. The point is not to reunite Creedence, but to bring its songs back to the stage under the name of the man who wrote them. This reunion with his own catalog defines the period, although the date, venue and backing musicians of this performance remain unidentified.

Premonition turns that moment into an album and film, recorded in Burbank in December 1997 and released in 1998. It is a documented milestone of this musical reconciliation. The link between this performance and that release, however, is not established: the two recordings cannot be treated as the same show.
