Context
On June 13, 2015, Robbie Williams faces a festival crowd in Landgraaf. His booking as Saturday's closer had raised doubts about how he would fit at Pinkpop. The Let Me Entertain You Tour reaches Megaland with a broad approach: putting the singer's hits in contact with other artists' classics.
In a long coat and bleached hair, Williams opens with Let Me Entertain You and uses humor to win the crowd over. The band moves through Rock DJ, an acoustic block and the swing version of Supreme. Guy Chambers accompanies She's the One on piano out on the runway. Quotes from U2, Lorde and Led Zeppelin run through the songs.
The encore takes in Bohemian Rhapsody before Feel and Angels close the night. After Landgraaf, the tour heads to Belgrade and other European stages, ahead of the Asian and Australian legs. The recording remains in the festival's audiovisual archive: a portrait of Williams balancing his own songs, other people's references and banter with the crowd.
