Context
Two São Paulo bands share the City of Rock on January 14, 2001. Ira! and Ultraje a Rigor reach the festival with their lineups of the time and turn the meeting into a sequence of separate blocks. The recording brings different repertoires together without dissolving the identities of Nasi, Edgard Scandurra and Roger Moreira into a single group.
Dias de Luta opens Ira!'s part, followed by Núcleo Base and Vida Passageira. Flores em Você and Envelheço na Cidade keep the focus on the band's songs. The Clash's Should I Stay or Should I Go links the two groups. Then Ciúme, O Chiclete, Marylou and Pelado shift the center to Ultraje.
The meeting gets an official release in 2011, ten years after the recording. The published selection does not include every song of the night, an important distinction for understanding the recording. The shared stage remains its axis: two paths of Brazilian rock meet on another band's song before returning to their own repertoires.
