Context
Four days after God's Son reaches stores, Nas takes over Webster Hall in New York on December 17, 2002. The album comes after his mother's death and in the wake of his feud with Jay-Z. The night brings this recent material close to the songs that built his place in rap.
Nas opens with The Cross and Got Ur Self a Gun, then runs through The World Is Yours, It Ain't Hard to Tell and N.Y. State of Mind. Bravehearts come in on Zone Out. One Mic and Ether fill the home stretch, before Darryl McDaniels' testimony and the Made You Look remix with Jadakiss and Ludacris.
In June 2003, the night gets a DVD release and becomes Nas' first concert release in that format. The package adds interviews, music videos and behind-the-scenes footage. Two decades later, the recording also reaches vinyl: the celebration of a new album remains as a portrait of a phase of self-assertion.
- Jadakiss and Ludacris join the Made You Look remix.
