Context
On May 26, 1996, the Pinkpop tent welcomes the Fugees on a Sunday that also features Leftfield and Moloko. The Score had reached stores three months earlier. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Pras present the second album as the trio's international profile grows.
DJ Leon clears the way for Wyclef's guitar before No Woman, No Cry. The path passes through fragments of Queen and Pink Floyd, revisits Vocab and stops the sequence to celebrate Lauryn's 21st birthday. Fu-Gee-La, Killing Me Softly with His Song and Ready or Not carry the central part.
After that season, The Score wins the Grammy for best rap album, and Killing Me Softly takes the award for R&B performance by a group. The trio moves on to solo work in 1997. The TV recording preserves this meeting of turntables, band and three voices before the split.
- Wyclef breaks up the set with guitar and snippets of Queen and Pink Floyd.
