Context
The heat begins to ease on Friday as Eyehategod takes the Sophie Lancaster Stage. On August 12, 2022, the New Orleans group makes its Bloodstock debut. A History of Nomadic Behavior, released the previous year, is its latest album on this European run.
Mike IX Williams alternates harsh vocals with conversation between songs. Gary Mader's bass anchors the slow movements, while guitar and drums build pressure without relying on speed. During Sisterfucker, Williams calls for a circle pit. The performance combines the weight of sludge with an attitude rooted directly in punk.
The set reaches its end with four minutes still available, and the band uses the remaining time to add another song. The recording begins circulating digitally in May 2023, preserving this festival debut. What remains is a tangible encounter: the weight of New Orleans inside the Sophie Lancaster tent.
- Four minutes left on the clock make room for an extra song at the end.
