Context
Thirty years separate Crowbar's self-titled album from this Saturday at Catton Park. On August 12, 2023, the band takes Bloodstock's Ronnie James Dio Stage with Zero and Below still its latest release. The set brings three decades of material into roughly 45 minutes.
Kirk Windstein handles vocals and guitar alongside Matt Brunson, Shane Wesley, and Tommy Buckley. High Rate Extinction opens the way for Negative Pollution and I Feel the Burning Sun. Chemical Godz and Bleeding From Every Hole bring the recent material alongside To Build a Mountain, before the closing stretch of Planets Collide and Like Broken Glass.
The full performance becomes available in May 2024 as part of the festival's audiovisual archive. Tavish Cross handles the audio mix. The recording preserves a precise snapshot of this period: Crowbar stands behind its recent album without pushing aside the older songs that still hold a place onstage.
