Context
On June 14, 2015, Billy Joel arrives at Bonnaroo for the first time with the job of closing the festival. The date falls in the middle of the Billy Joel in Concert tour and his monthly residency at Madison Square Garden, which began the year before.
On the What Stage, My Life and Pressure clear the way for Everybody Loves You Now, Zanzibar and All for Leyna. Joel trades the piano for a guitar and calls on roadie Chainsaw to sing Highway to Hell. Scenes From an Italian Restaurant and Piano Man close the main set before the encore.
After Manchester, the schedule returns to Madison Square Garden. In July, Joel reaches his 65th performance there and passes Elton John's mark. The Tennessee night is streamed by Red Bull TV: the meeting with the festival crowd stays documented beyond the field.
- Chainsaw takes over Highway to Hell, with Joel on guitar.
