Billy Joel

Billy Joel was born in the Bronx, New York, and began his solo career in the early 1970s. Piano Man, from 1973, brought his first hit; The Stranger and 52nd Street cemented his reach, followed by a more guitar-driven rock phase on Glass Houses and doo-wop references on An Innocent Man.

River of Dreams, from 1993, has been his last album of original songs to date; since then, he has kept performing live.
